Amsterdam, Barbara Huges, 1968. 29,7 x 21 cm. In linnen rug geplakt. De omslag is handgeschreven in verschillende viltstiftkleuren en voorzien van een viltstifttekening van een brein (?) met twee harten erin. (2), 24 bladen, eenzijdig gestencild. 1e druk. De omslagtekening is vervaagd en de eerste pagina's zijn boven en onder watervlekkig. Bruine vlekken op de onderkaft (zie scans). Het verslag van de befaamde zelftrepanatie van provo Bart Huges (1934-2004), die door deze bij zichzelf toegebrachte hersenoperatie mentale expansie (zijn 'derde oog') hoopte te bereiken. Naar eigen zeggen was het een groot succes.

Bart Huges (1934-2004), a doctor in training, drilled a hole in the top of his head with a dental drill on January 6, 1965 because he was convinced that this would expand his consciousness. He remained convinced of this for the rest of his life. Very scarce.

18.0 x 12.5 cm. On the back the rubberstamp of photographer Ronald Sweering. A small crease. In Provo atmosphere, Bart Huges (1934-2004), a doctor in training, drilled a hole in the top of his head with a dental drill on January 6, 1965 because he was convinced that this would expand his consciousness. This photo shows Huges in a dark costume; laughing, he is apparently arguing. With newspaper clipping of January 23, 1965, an article by A.E. Bayer: 'Barry Huges wants to expand his consciousness. On to the Third Eye' using this photo, with the caption again 'Barry Huges', confusion Bart with a well-known football player. Huges' name is correct in the text.
